The Plainsman Museum

Business Picture

The Plainsman Museum collects, preserves, illustrates and works to establish the history of Hamilton County, Nebraska. Take a "journey through yesterday" as you examine a real sod house and stroll down the boardwalk of an entire historic town. Our seasonal buildings include the Wesley Huenefeld Agricultural Building which tells the story of agriculture in our area and includes our antique cars, trucks, and farm equipment. Other buildings include the Bates House, home to General Delevan and Lana Bates as well as our one-room schoolhouse and Grieser blacksmith shop.
