July Chamber Member of the Month Salon Blu
The Aurora Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize newer Chamber Member, Salon Blu.
Current owner Kylie Rader purchased Heads Up Salon in December of 2017 and changed the name to Salon Blu that following January.
Salon Blu offers many services including hair care, nails, and waxing, but they are taking on a new adventure and opening a clothing boutique in the salon.
Rader says her salon offers a wide variety of products including Kenra, Biolage and Loma hair care products. Loma says on their website that their "philosophy is to maintain a renewable and sustainable process. All our packaging is recyclable and we require a minimum of 25% post-recyclable plastic in our bottles. Our manufacturing facility generates very little waste because we recycle everything we can, from raw material drums to cardboard and plastic."
The salon is fully manned by Kylie with a little help from her daughter who works part time.
Rader says that everyday is the best day of work especially when she gets to try new things. She says a typical day in the salon consists of lots of colors and haircuts.
Kylie and her husband moved to Aurora in November of 2018 and says their favorite part of Aurora is all the community involvement.
Rader was nominated as an Aurora Chamber of Commerce Board Member in 2019 and has helped with many projects including the Chamber Golf Scramble, Bands on the Bricks, and an upcoming Christmas event.
