October Chamber Review

Chamber of Commerce October month at a glance

Coffee Connections: Heartland Jewelry hosted Coffee Connects for October as they made a big announcement about their business. Dan and Jeri have announced they are planning to retire. They have been long time members and surly be missed in our community. Next Coffee Connection will be help on Nov 5th at Padgett Business Services to celebrate Monica Snider's 25 years with the business. 
Business After Hours: The Plainsman Museum hosted October's Business After Hours. They offered free tours of the Museum, food and drinks, and great conversation. November's Business After  Hours will be hosted by the Memorial Community Health's Thrift shop where we will also be holding a Ribbon Cutting for their new expansion. 
Connect the Dots: The Nebraska Extension office puts on an event each year for high school freshman to learn more about different career avenues. The Aurora Chamber of Commerce was asked to come talk about what we do and man the marketing booth at the event. 
25 Year Anniversary: Long time Chamber Member Edward Jones in Aurora celebrated their 25th Year Anniversary this month. Chamber Board Members and Ambassadors helped present Trevor and Shane Thorell a certificate for this milestone. 
Scare the Square: This year's Scare the Square event fell on Halloween.  Businesses lined the sidewalks of the Square to hand out candy to local children.

The Aurora Chamber of Commerce will be featuring one of our many Chamber Board of Directors each month.  

Mitch Lyon

Mitchell Lyon is the owner of The Number Company. He attended High School in Aurora but just recently moved back just over 3 years ago. He says his favorite part of Hamilton County is a hike around Gjerloff Prairie. Mitchell joined the Aurora Chamber of Commerce as a board member because he believes the Chamber of Commerce provides a great way to be involved with what's going on in the community and promote all of the great small businesses in Hamilton County.
